The IT University of Copenhagen invites highly motivated individuals to apply a part-time lecturer position starting in October or soon thereafter.

We invite applicants who want to contribute to the IT University’s vision of creating and sharing knowledge that is profound and leads to groundbreaking information technology and services for the benefit of humanity; and to contribute to the Digital Design Department's research themes on care, creativity, participation, data and AI.

About the position
The Digital Design Department, IT University of Copenhagen, seeks one or more part-time lecturers as soon as possible for a 3-year position to co-teach UX-related topics across our education programs. In the fall semester 2023 the part-time lecturer should co-teach part of the ’Digital teknologiforståelse i gymnasieskolen’ course, which is a preparation course for the Professional Master in ‘Informatikundervisning’ in collaboration with Aarhus University. The course is offered every autumn. In addition, the part-time lecturer should co-teach User Interface Design course in the BSc in Digital Design and Interactive Technologies in the spring semester 2024. Finally, there might be possibilities in the following semesters to co-teach courses the UX Specialization in the MSc in Digital Design and Interactive Technologies. The part-time lecturer is expected to assist in planning and developing the courses and syllabi.

The ’Digital teknologiforståelse i gymnasieskolen’ is a 10 ECTS course for high school teachers taught for a small class of 10-15 students in a combination of online and onsite lectures. A course description of Digital teknologiforståelse i gymnasieskolen’ can be found here

The User Interface Design course in the BSc in Digital Design and Interactive Technologies is a 7,5 ECTS course with 50-60 students. The course is taught in either Danish or English and the full description of the course and curricula can be accessed here

The UX Specialization consists of the course UX 1 (7.5 ECTS) and UX 2 (15 ECTS) respectively on the 2nd and 3rd semester of the DDIT MSc programme. Currently, around 60 students are enrolled. Salary and terms of employment
Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Taxation’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and job structure for academic staff at Universities.

Qualification Requirements
A requirement for the positions is that the candidate as a minimum holds a candidate-/MSc-degree within a relevant field. Moreover, the ideal candidate:

  • Should document experience with teaching, preferably at university level, (including course design and development of teaching materials) in a related topic.
  • Should have proven experience from working in the industry and the public sector with UX and design related topics.
  • Should have experience from start-up environments with companies creating new digital designs.

The applicant will be accessed according to the Appointment Order from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of 13 March 2012.

The IT University may use shortlisting in connection to the recruitment process. In case of shortlisting, the Chair of the hiring committee selects applicants for assessment in consultation with the hiring committee after the application deadline. All applicants are notified whether their application has been passed for assessment. The shortlisting of candidates for assessment is based on the criteria in the job posting.
